Welcome to my website and blog! I am a Cleveland, Ohio-based writer interested in books, feminism, and Jewish life.

My first book, Heroic Disobedience: The Forced Marriage Plot in British Novels, 1747-1880, was published with Vernon Press in 2023. Based on my doctoral dissertation, it explores the ways in which the rise of capitalism in Britain relied on the oppression of women and -- importantly -- how popular British novelists like Jane Austen and Charles Dickens used the novel to celebrate female characters who fight for autonomy.
