Review for JBC: Survival, by Ita Dimant

grisham8

I took a brief hiatus from my work with the Jewish Book Council, but now that I've made some serious progress on my WIP, I'm back at it as their special Holocaust correspondent (a title 100% made up by me and in no way endorsed by the Jewish Book Council).

Anyway, I reviewed this memoir back in December and am just now getting around to sharing in on my own platforms.

It's a fascinating memoir by Ita Dimant, who survived the Holocaust by hiding in plain sight as a non-Jew outside the boundaries of her Polish ghetto. This, to be clear, was NOT a common occurrence, so her memoir shows a unique perspective on the Shoah. She was heavily involved in resistance movements and watched, helpless, as her family was deported to death camps.
