A teen's timeless account of psychosis

I was so excited to review Penguin Classic's new edition of Joanne Greenberg's semi-autobiographic novel I Never Promised You a Rose Garden. First published in 1964, it shares a close history with Sylvia Plath's The Bell Jar. In the review for the Jewish Book Council, I discuss the relationship between the two along with the relationship between antisemitism and mental illness that leads to the narrator's schizophrenia diagnosis.

TW: suicide, mental illness
